We are open to students who have their own ideas for formulating a graduation project. However, if you find the following assignment interesting, that is also an option.
Project: Data-driven Ransomware Threat Hunting
As a company specialising in incident response, we assist organizations in the Netherlands and abroad with recovering from cyber security incidents. One common example of such an incident is ransomware. This type of attack involves attackers infiltrating a digital environment, encrypting data and systems, and subsequently demanding ransom.
The student’s assignment includes researching the most common techniques ransomware attackers use in the digital environments of their victims. Using a proof of concept, the goal is to identify "quick wins" to detect attack activity in large-scale datasets with research data.
